Need help with the cost of a mission? Print

Outlined below are several great ideas for raising the necessary funds to send your students on a CLC of ME mission.

Ask your schools' parent organizations/boosters:

If they would like to visit the Center, please call the Center to make arrangements.

Ask your local community clubs:

We have been traveling around the state of Maine presenting to community clubs such as Rotary, Kiwanis, and Lions. We have been enthusiastically received by every group and they are eager to assist their local schools with the cost of a mission or transportation to that mission. We can help you make these connections. Just call the Challenger Center to ask if we've presented to a club near you or to let us know if there's a specific club you'd like us to contact.

Ask local businesses:

Wal-Mart gives teachers money for classroom projects at the beginning of each year. It's easy to apply. Best Buy, (BestBuy.com click on Community Relations)Target and Circuit City also give teachers grant money. Check with your local store for more information.

Ask local technology businesses:

During our fundraising efforts, many companies indicated they would rather support a school system directly, than donate to the Center. We can't give out this list of businesses directly, but you're call to them may make the right connection.

Ask your students to contribute:

Asking the students to contribute as little as $5 each can take a significant dent out of the registration cost. How much would they pay for a field trip to an amusement park?
