Engineering Challenge
Can your family work together  like the PBS Design Squad to  design, build, test,
and  share one or more of the following  projects?
Confetti Launcher
Invent a device to launch a cloud of confetti.
On Target 
Modify a paper cup so it can zip down
a line and drop a marble on a target.
Sky  Floater 
Make a helium-filled balloon hover in one 
spot, then move it around the room without touching it.
Touchdown
Build a spacecraft with a shock absorber that will protect marshmallow astronauts
when they land.
Zip Line
Design a way to get a Ping-Pong ball from the top to the bottom of a zip line string.

Challenger Learning Center of Maine is part of the Challenger Center for Space Science Education Network (challenger.org), founded in 1986 in the aftermath of the Challenger 51-L tragedy.

Today, more than 500,000 students, none of whom were even born when the Challenger accident occurred, participate in Challenger Center programs annually. More than 6,000 educators learn the value of simulation for classroom use, adding to the 30,000 classrooms where Challenger Center school-based programs have been made available.
